Planter Care and Maintenance

No matter whether your planter is galvanised or powder-coated, there's a couple of things that you can do to make sure they remain looking good for a lifetime.

  • Raise your planter off the ground slightly using rubber, hardwood packers or our matching metal feet (recommended). This will help the water escape easily from the drainage holes and it'll stop water from being trapped around the edges of the planter.

  • Keep your planter clean! The build up of dirt against the outside of the planters can corrode the metalwork if it's not regularly removed.

Galvanised planters should be cleaned using WD40. Spray a thin layer over the entire surface and then buff with a soft, dry cloth. This will help protect the surfaces and retain the shiny galvanised look.

Powder-coated planters should be cleaned using a mild detergent and warm water. Use a soft cloth or sponge to clean and then buff dry with a soft, non abrasive cloth. Never clean your planters with a power-washer as this can cause the coating to fail.

Do not use strong chemical cleaning products or abrasive materials or you may damage your planter.
